Teaching Methodology

All violin and piano teachers of Amadeus Music Academy hold Masters degrees in music from world renowned universities, all which are closely familiar with the Russian teaching school methodology.

This technique is considered the most unique method for piano performance. The school is based on a deep understanding of styles and history of music, with a particular emphasis on the ability to ‘sing’ on the instrument. Our university professors spent their lifetime researching and establishing this distinctive approach to learning the Russian piano technique. The founding father of the Russian piano school, Heinrich Neuhaus, is renowned for the poetic magnetism of his playing and for artistic refinement. His many students, including Yakov Zak, Sviatoslav Richter and Emil Gilels, are now the most iconic names in piano history.

Our Vancouver-based music lessons all continue in the teaching traditions of Moscow State University piano school and footsteps of Heinrich Neuhaus.
